Anchors for the Day
Detailed hour-by-hour schedules tend to collapse the moment one thing runs late — and then the whole day feels blown. Anchors work better: a few fixed points you can hang the rest of the day on. They give structure (which helps when your sense of time is unreliable) without the brittleness of a rigid timetable.
Why anchors, not schedules
Flexible beats perfect: An anchor is a reliable moment — waking, a meal, a walk, bedtime. You attach habits to it. If the timing drifts, the anchor still happens, so the routine survives a messy day.
Pick your anchors
Choose two or three points that already happen most days. These are your hooks.

Attach what matters
Hang the things you want to happen onto an anchor you already have. The anchor becomes the reminder.
Anchor → habit
Row 1
- Anchor (already happens): ____________________
- What I'll attach to it: ____________________
Row 2
- Anchor (already happens): ____________________
- What I'll attach to it: ____________________
Row 3
- Anchor (already happens): ____________________
- What I'll attach to it: ____________________
Example: 'After I pour my morning coffee (anchor), I take my meds (habit).' • 'When I get into bed (anchor), I plug my phone in across the room.'
Keep a 'good enough' version
For each routine, decide the bare-minimum version for low days, so it still counts when you're depleted.

Drift is fine: If an anchor slides an hour, the routine isn't ruined — the anchor just happens later, and what's attached comes with it. That flexibility is the whole point.
